If you are interested in dropshipping, and you don’t want to spend too much money like monthly membership fees to test out some ideas, BuckyDrop could be a great option to kickstart your dropshipping business with absolutely NO COST before you fulfilled a real order.
In this article, I will share my experience on how I discovered Buckydrop and show you how I created a pet store with Buckydrop step-by-step.
Why BuckyDrop?
I’ve researched tons of dropshipping eCommerce services, and none of them is entirely free. You can try them for a few days with credit card information and you have to pay a monthly fee after trial no matter you are making money or not. I discovered BuckyDrop when I was shopping on Superbuy, a reputable eCommerce platform to help international users order Chinese products from Taobao and JD, and they ship worldwide with multiple couriers options. I’m impressed by their excellent customer service each time and discovered their new subsidiary company BuckyDrop that offers a free Starter Plan for the dropshipping stores. Based on the trust from Superbuy, I decided to give BuckyDrop a try.
Let’s build a BuckyDrop store with the Starter Plan.
This is the free plan if you are an eCommerce dropshipping newcomer and want to test out some business ideas. You can also check other service plans.
- Register a BuckyDrop Store
In order to build a BuckyDrop store, you have to register first：
After registration, you can select “Create New Store”. If you are a Shopify/WooCommerce store owner, you can link your existing stores to BuckyDrop.
1.Enter Store Information. For this demo project, I set up the store address, store name, and chose USD as displayed currency in my store.
2. Select Theme. I picked the theme Fashion
3. Select Product. For now, I choose “No, I will select products by myself”. I will pick products in the store admin.
After clicking “Create Store”, Voila, your BuckyShop store is created! If you click “View Store”, you can see the store looks exactly like the theme but with your unique store name and URL, while clicking “Store Setting” takes you to the store admin.
On the Store Settings page, you can change themes, add your custom domains, create pages, manage notifications sent to your customers…etc
- Now, Let’s Add Some Real Products
You can go to BuckyDrop->Products to view the product options. You can pick products from Bucky Select which are pre-selected by BuckyDrop and sourced directly from brand owners. BuckySelect products can be shipped and stored free into the warehouses in China, and have met the criteria for international shipping.
As they described on the site, for BuckySelect products, they offer features:

Another option is to pick products from Third Party Platforms like Taobao, Tmall, JD, 1688..etc Which provides a huge selection, but the after-sales policies are subject to the seller.
For this demo project, I will pick products from Bucky Select->Pets->Cats &Dogs Toys, and save my favorable products. You can view them in the Saved Products.
- Edit Products and Push to My Store
For each product, it has pre-populated data like product title, price, weight, images. You can edit all the data as you want, don’t forget to save and push to shop if you’d like to add that product to your store.
How to set the price?
Product Price is the cost of this product in Chinses RMB.
Price is the sale price at your store in USD or your preferred currency. If you want to offer global shipping, you need to evaluate the shipping cost and add that to your cost plus your desired profit. You can use Tool->Shipping Fee Calculator to estimate your shipping cost.
Compare at Price is the price that you want to show as the “before promotion” sale price, also in USD or your preferred currency.
Push products to selected stores After editing product content, press the “Save and Push to Shop” button, and select the store you want to push to.
- Create Collections
Since we have pushed some products, now we can create collections. Go to BuckyShop->Products->Collections to add collections.
Create a new collection with collection title, image, and description:

- Edit Your Store Web Design
In order to view your storefront, you can go to Shops->BuckyShop and click the “Store Address” to see it. You can also click “More” to deactivate the store, so it becomes inaccessible online.
You can see that for now, the store looks exactly like the theme except with the name you set up.
In order to edit the store web design, we need to go to BuckyShop->Store Settings->Themes, and click “Design”.
Inside of the Theme editor, you can customize each sector of the web page, like Header, Footer, Page.
For the Header, you can add a logo, change the logo layout, header colors, toggle the announcement bar, and edit content.
For “This page”, you can add, remove sections or edit existing sections. For example, in the “Collection list”, you can remove the demo collections, and add the collections you created with the real products.
- Add an About Us Page
You can create pages at BuckyShop->Store Settings->Pages
Add this page to my store, go to BuckyShop->Store Settings->Navigation->Main menu, you can add about us page to the main menu.
After all the product and site editing, you can view the demo site like this
- Add a Custom Domain
First, you need to own a domain. If you already have one, you can link that with your BuckyShop. Go to BuckyShop->Store Settings->Domains to connect existing domain. You can view this tutorial to see the detail.
